Flight Training

Penn Air INC had been providing flight training at the Altoona Blair County Airport for many years. We offer two instrument equipped and certified Piper Warriors and a Cessna 150 for flight training. The Cessna 150 is a two seat affordable trainer to start on or if you would rather train in the larger four seat Piper Warrior we have two to choose from. These are all well maintained aircraft, serviced by experts in our own facility. Our experienced instructors have flexible schedules to fit your demanding lifestyle and to meet your training needs. All of our full and part time flight instructors are college educated and have experience in Charter, Corporate, and Airline pilot positions. Most have come back to the general aviation side of flying from airlines because they enjoy flying as a hobby and teaching others to fly is way for them to give back all that flying has given them.

Whether you would like to learn to fly for furtherance of your business, for weekend pleasure flights, or to become a professional airline pilot, Penn Air INC will design a program especially for you and your needs. Future career pilots may start their flight training here and transfer to the collegiate program of their choice or complete all required flight training here and attend a local college of choice.

Penn Air INC also provides rental checkouts for all our aircraft as well as BFR and IPC checks. We have a four seat Warrior with a fresh zero time engine, four place intercom, and fresh new interior on the line. This is now available for rental.
